Long gun purchase:
Purchaser must be a California resident 18 years old or older
Purchaser must be able to pass CA DOJ background check
Handgun purchase:
Purchaser must be a California resident 21 years old or older
Purchaser must be able to pass CA DOJ background check
Purchaser must have a Handgun Safety Certificate (HSC) card and successfully complete a safety demonstration with the handgun being purchased
If you need the HSC card, we can administer certification
There are exemptions from the necessity to have an HSC
All exemptions are listed in paragraph 12807 of ARTICLE 8 HANDGUN SAFETY CERTIFICATE
